Do any of you use the SuperBrace?

If so, do you see a marked improvement in the handling of your bike?

Thanks!
John

I sure saw a big difference with front end wobble esp at low speeds. For the little money it costs I'd definitely recommend it. - jryan

I didn't have the front end wobble problem. But I replaced it when I added the progressives this spring.

Handling is much better and was worth the extra money in my opinion. - rbengl

Wouldn't ride without it. That and the progressive springs cured my "wobbly' front end feeling.

I have used the Superbrace on all of my Venture SS bikes. I highly recomend it.

A stronger fork brace will give you much better feedback from the road.

There are many things you can do to improve performance and give you a rock solid feel under all driving conditions. I do not have wobble at any speed. My bike handles similar to a sport bike with damper in curves.

Some of the things I have done are:

- Periodically re-torque to factory spec all frame struts, cross braces, engine mounts, fork stem pinch bolts, & fork brace bolts.
- Replace the six rubber engine mounts with solid mounts.
- Ensure that the front axle bolt is not bent no matter how slight.
- Replace stock fork springs with Progressive springs & use 15 weight fork oil over the factory recommended 10 wt.
- Steering head bearings cleaned repacked and tightened so that with front wheel off the ground resistance is enough that handlebars do not fall from one side to the other but require a little help.
- After properly tightening the steering head bearings remove the rubber washer sandwiched between the ring nuts on the top of the steering head under the triple tree and tighten the second (jam) ring nut directly on top of the first. The rubber washer can then be placed on top of the two ring nut or replaced with a metal washer to take up the gap.
- New bearings and proper torque where swingarm attaches to frame.
- Properly mount & balance a fresh set of tires. (I still prefer Dunlop Elite II's)
- Ride conservatively until a new tire is properly seated.

I really appreciate all the replies. Some good information!

Thanks,

I just saw your post, I strongly recommend the Super Brace. I can't remember what I paid for the brace, I got it from Rick at Buckeye, but it was money well spent. Joe

I put a superbrace on my 89 VR last week. No more wobble at any speed. 61 mph was the worst speed for wobble on my VR.
I set the cruise at 61 mph and took my hands off. Wobble was gone.
I highly recommend the superbrace...I was at my local dealer the other day and he was installing a superbrace on a brand new 2006 Gold Wing before the owner took delivery....that says something... wynndy

I put a Superbrace on my 93 way back when. It cured a wobble problem I was having when I went into corners too hot. I agree with all the others here! Go for it!

I bought my 83 Vr 4 years ago and the Superbrace was already on it. I don't realy have anything to compare it to but I'm pretty satisfied with the way the front end reacts, especially since I resealed the front forks. Next time I tear into it I will replace the springs with Progressives. - boominup

put a super brace on my 87 didnt make a dang bit of difference still wobbles like a dunken whore in a hurricane at any speed so I dont feel it's the cure all. Now I've bought the progressive springs and just got to stop riding it long enough to install them and check all the other stuff listed above. Just dont let go of the bars. Love the bike anyway. My buddy blew his belt on his harley after work tonight . He just replaced it and all the pullys and seals less than 10 thousand miles ago. Ride On! - yamaharley
