Fixing The Wobble

Jeff: All the things you mentioned about reducing the Wobble are worth while adjustments. I have found the Ventures to be very sensitive to what kind of tire they have and it varies with different models of Ventures ( 1200 or 1300 ). Other items that need to be maintained that can affect wobble are the Frame bolts. They require a periodic re-torqueing. All pre 1991 models need to have the swing arm linkages greased by taking them apart at a 10,000 to 15,000 mile interval. Any Venture that is pre 1991 and has grease zerks on the linkages, they are not from the factory and were put on by a previous owner. Only the factory units with the zerks distribute the grease properly. Those pins go dry and start wearing, cause severe handling problems, and can be expensive to replace. Moly grease is required. Yes, the BRP is a really nice ride. I did it while in that area for the 1987 V-Daze Rally in Pidgeon Forge, TN
