Oiled Air Filter

The standard air filter for the Venture is a pleated paper one, just like most cars. I replaced mine with an oiled filter element air filter at 38,000 kilometers, back in 1987. The oiled filter element is cleaned and re-oiled every year or so. I noticed that the "air intake" noise on heavy acceleration is a little more pronounced with this new air filter. It is perhaps reasonable to assume that this oiled air filter has less "drag" and would let the engine breathe a little more easily - hence the better gas mileage that I seem to get. It may be easier to make this change than to add holes to the intake box. ...Scott
