Compression Washers, Do Compression Test To Check ValvesAs a more economical replacement to the compression washer for the assorted drain bolts, which Yamaha sells for about $1.85, the same basic part can be purchased from Mitsubishi car dealers as a 14mm compression washer for $0.75.On the subject of valve adjustments, as I've recently learned from J & J Motorsports of DeKalb, IL, do a compression test on each cyclinder as a determination if the valve clearances are closing up. If compression values are within specs, there is no need to tear open the top end to adjust the valves. This is a savings of $200+! I am enjoying visiting your web site! Ken McCall -
